Hey everyone. Ive been debating whether or not I should upgrade my standard mirage drive fins to either st or turbo st. I usually pedal for an hour or so through strong currents to reach my favorite spots to fish and crab. The problem is that i get tired as hell from the journey. Will a fin upgrade make traveling more efficient and less exhausting? Or does the increased resistance of the pedals make it more difficult to travel far distances.

I fish quite a bit with Prophet out of Shelter Cove, I've got the standard fins he's got the turbo, what a difference. I have to work my butt off trying to stay with him while he's in cruise mode. I'm planning on upgrading before GS7, not sure why I haven't already.

Don't hesitate and put them on.  Turbo fins make you cover more distance and go faster more efficiently with the same effort.  I will never go back using standard fins.

Actually, hesitate a few weeks until your local dealer has the red turbo fins in stock, they're faster.  Just kidding, they look sweet though.

Upgrading the fins was the best money I have spent so far on upgrades.

Turbo fins are the best upgrade by far. The sailing rudder is really nice on the ocean, it's only like $25, I would strongly suggest doing both.

Turbo fins and sailing ruder is on par with wheeleze, once you use them you'll never go back and wish you would have got them sooner.

I never realized what a minority I am regarding the pedals.  I upgraded to Turbo fins but kept having problems with them and went back to the standard fins.  I have a tendency to hammer the pedals pretty hard from time to time and the turbos just wouldn't take the hard pedaling.  I have not had an issue keeping up with anyone using the Turbos.  Maybe it's time to try them again?  I agree with the sailing rudder upgrade, especially if your gonna use a sail.  I'm thinking maybe I should reconsider as I get closer to 100% Social Security eligibility age.  To Turbo or not to Turbo?

With the turbos you can always adjust them if they are putting too much resistance. You won't pick up as fast but you can cruise better.
