Joel -

I really don't know what to say. Lately I've seen numerous people I personally know go through your same ordeal.  A few years ago my 22 yr. old nephew made the same decision as you are making.  He just had enough treatments.  His family wanted him take all kinds of new treatments but he just he had enough and wanted to rest. God bless you and you are in my prayers.

Both Jan and I will miss Joel at the events we attend.  He is an ispiration to all of us.  It saddens me, but I also know it will ease what he has been going through.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mooch and his family.

Joel,

Wow, I'm so sad to hear the news.  It makes me regret not having been around the last year. You were one of the first folks that I met when I joined NCKA and you always impressed me with your friendliness and the ease with which you accepted us as members of the 'family'.  Be at peace.

Michael

Joel, God willing I will see you on the other side and we can do that sailing we had planned. May the wind be ever at your back my friend. I am a better person and angler because of you. Scott

Only a select few have the chance to actually see the imprint their life has on others.
You have touched all the life orbits of so many people here my friend, it is an achievement to be intensely proud of.

You were the glue in the initial layup of NCKA, and continue to be more than that to us now, like marine goop :smt001.

You are an inspiration to legions of people who choose to chase fish from small boats.
Calm seas and big fish for you Hana Pa'a.

Joel, you are the heartbeat of this group.  Thank you for being a guiding light and inspiration to each and every one of us.  We ALL love you.

This quote says it all, except that even though we ALL love you, YOU are the ONLY one who has a Sugar Mama forever. Joel, I am so blessed to have known you. I love you, man.

joel , you are one of the most complete human beings I've met. travel well my brother and i know this might seem silly but i think of you everytime i make jasmine rice. my rice has come out perfect once you shared with me the "hella asian" pinky rice to water ratio technique while we hung out at red barn. like the rest of NCKA...I will miss you but i am proud to say i have known you.  :smt009 :smt009

my wife, I and my older kid are speechless. We met first time about year ago on Aquanfest during Joel kayak fishing seminar. My son always remember Mooch as the "Shark Guy" (Joel described kayakers encounter with landlords) and my wife and I will always remember you as the most passionate fisherman and kayaker we ever met. I thankful that I met you in my life.

We love you.
