Wanted to stock up on some 6, 8 and 10 oz chrome Diamond jigs.  It seems as though the prices on them vary widely from store to store. Anyone know of a store in the bay area that has them at a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Antonio

I have a 8,10,12oz mold. If you want some cheap. If I were to buy them I like these flat hammered diamond jigs. They have blems and quantity discounts. Good luck.

Are the hammered better than the ahi diamond jigs?

I would say most east coast guys like them better but I'm not sure it matters. I just really like the flat hammered styles look. Seems fishy.  I make and sell a lot of jigs that look similar to a mega also which is kind of a flat diamond pattern. I like red and purple vs chrome.

Captain Harry's in Florida has them for $4 each. They are sold out in 4oz and 10oz ones though.

how heavy do you guys typically buy them. I'm planning on buying the 6oz, but I'm not sure.

It is sort of depended on the weight of your rod, and general fishing conditions.  6 oz. are normally fine (if not a little heavy) unless the wind is blowing like hell and you are drifting fast.  Then you need to go heavier to stay straight up and down and avoid decorating the bottom of the ocean with all your lost gear.  But frankly... if that is the case you probably shouldn't be out there in a kayak anyway.

Thank you, I will go with 6oz then.

Having a few heavy ones isn't a bad idea either though.  They are nice if you get into deeper water.

I like an 8oz jig. always start with that but I would use a lighter jig if the profile was bigger.
