Has anyone launched from the marina in Rodeo? I was out there today and took a look around. The marina looks as though it has seen better days but they said they just put in sewer lines so it sounds like they are beginning to fix the place up. There are old boat docks just sitting in the mud at low tide. There is a useable launch ramp with no dock. I asked and the price for boat launching is a $60 per year pass, good when the marina is open. I think he said 8:00 to 5:30 or something. I didn't ask if the cost would be the same for kayak launching. While I was looking at the boat ramp I noticed what looked like a small beach on a small point a short distance towards the SW. There are a couple picnic tables, but from where I was I couldn't tell if there was a reasonable way to get a kayak in. The marina is near where San Pablo Ave meets Parker Ave. Take Pacific Ave over the RR tracks and your there. Right now it is in pretty rough shape, but it has possibilities.

At lowtide the place is unyakable......at high it is doable. There is a park just to the south(go left after crossing RR bridge) that has beach access. Parking is at your own risk there.......I'd go park in the marina and walk back to the beach. Wheels are a must there(if going the beach/park route) There are fish out there.

I was there about 1:30 and low tide was at 4:05. The old berths were high and dry but I watched a boat pulled out of the water on the ramp. It is located on a spot with better access to the water. I didn't see it at absolute low tide, so I can't be sure. Maybe the marina will be improved and become a good launch spot. Are there any better ones near that part of the bay?

no other real "marinas" in the area....the benefit of a yak is that you dont need a ramp or marina. That ramp you saw is on the "pay $60 side" of the gate.
