Hi, I'm Art from the Texas coast and have been kayak fishing for over 12 years across the US. I fished Oregon last summer and got a 2d place at ORC 2112. Theres a strong possibility that I will make a trip to Ya'lls area in Sep and as that date nears I'd like to get more inf on RV camping , Square dancing and most importantly on fishing the salt there. I have no itinerary for this trip and it would begin somewhere north of san Francisco and continue north to Coos Bay where I'd like to hook up for a trip or two with CBY again. My trip will actually be a continuation of the completion of the old bucket list and any suggestions as to when and where to fish will dictate my planning. I fish out of an old hobie sport but it does seem to work well. Hope to hear from some of yall. Art

What part of Texas you from?  I spent the first 21 years of my life in the northwest side of Houston in the Tomball/Cypress area.  I will be heading back to Texas sometime before you make your trip north.  If your wanting to fish for  lings, rockfish, pacific halibut, salmon, or albacore then I can put you on the fish.  Im in Eureka, but have fished from Sonoma coast to Newport Oregon.

Welcome Art.  I fished the ORC last year too.  Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it this year.  Watch for hookups on the Sonoma Coast in the Fall.  The "Loose Screws" get up there pretty often when conditions permit (usually week days).  Company is always welcome.

Thank for the response. I live in Rockport and fish mainly the bays here and in Louisiana. If you're down this way let me know, we've got som very good BTB fishing off mustang island and shouting the summer the kings, ling (Cobia) and sharks are plentiful. Kayaks are available. I will fish whatever bites my jig when I'm out there, enjoyed that type fishing in Oregon. The info on camping will also come in handy. Again I will continue to check this site regularly til we start traveling. Art
