They are decling in China, what a surprise

There has got to be a way to use this fish as a resource.

I know they are very bony, so not appealing for catch and eat. But there are lots of soup kitchens that would appreciate free fresh fish.

Since this fish is so abundant, why not use them for crab/crawfish bait, or grind them up and turn them into cat food? Purina can even put a sustainably harvested label on their products.

And if China wants them, so much the better. We can put a dent in that trade deficit.
