Loved the video - great work.  The thrashing lingcod footage was great.  Congrats, Jim - you've got it down!   :smt001

You're a great UW hunter Jim.  Thanks for the great report, video, and pictures.

Thanks for all the kind words fellas!! I really appreciate it.

Been gorging on sheephead sashimi, Ling filets and last night ate the nice Verm fried whole.

 :smt007 :smt007 :smt007

Few more pics...the Amadeo print one is my favorite. He shrunk the Verm down to exactly 8 inches to honor last year's Mini-Verm. The 2013 model was a little bit bigger.

congrats on the personal best Jim!

For those worried about Jims fingers, dont.  His hands are made of steel, so neither a sheepshead or ling tooth could penetrate.   :smt003

Happy bday big guy.

It's happening again.  Seeing pictures of your sheephead is making me want to shoot one again.  If you like fish head soup, a big male sheephead's head is the best for that dish...that is if you like sucking gooey, gelatinous fishy goodness from the skull.

Diving with guys like you is what keeps Fuzz's love of diving fresh and alive.  Your love and excitement for it comes through the computer.

Thanks for that,
Nate

Thanks Nate!!

That fish head soup sounds great...will have to let Ana's grandma know...whenever she visits she does one up and it is always so good!!

It was great diving with fuzz...He gave me tips and advice and suggestions and constructive criticism all throughout the day. Was stoked on a subconscious level that I found the two sheeps and the nice verm and bigger Ling by myself, but he pointed out all kinds of things to me (fish, diving/shooting techniques etc) all day that made the experience just that much more awesome.

 :smt001

Looking forward to seeing you and hopefully diving with you again soon!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Wait, (see bold above) are we talking about the same Fuzz?  Harold G. right?   :smt003

Wait, (see bold above) are we talking about the same Fuzz?  Harold G. right?   :smt003

LOL!!!!!!  Well....let's see...I remember the following... :smt002

"Your wetsuit smells like sh*t."

"Your dive light is jacked up."

"That was a horrible shot. The blue wasn't even moving and you blasted a big hole in its neck."

"That's like the smallest sheephead here, but hey nice job!"

"Why'd you shoot it in the back and not the head?"

"Hold the fish up higher, turn it to the left, your other left."

"Why do you gut them like that, you're messing it all up."

 :smt005 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

BUT, since he was right all the time AND because I learned from the criticism, I consider it constructive.

 :smt003 :smt004 :smt003

Thanks again fuzz!!! I really do appreciate all the help and guidance.

Jim

Nice stringer Jim, and a nice video too. What is the speargun you are using? I like the lines of it and thinking about adding another gun.

Thanks!

It's a Rob Allen 70...I really like it. Anytime my shots are off the mark, it is user error and not the gun...fuzz explained that there is sometimes a loose nut behind the handle that can cause shots to be off.

Yeah, I get in trouble because of those loose nuts too  :smt009 Thanks for the info.
