nice to not have wind for a change.  and an extra hr of sunlight can do wonders for those who work till 5. :smt001

got home from work, decided to go fishing and i didn't want to waste daylight driving so i went, again, to the closest place where there was water.  went off the rocks off of march lane and paddled to the other side of the river where there were no bankers, no not the money guys :smt003, the guys that throw their bait out to the middle of nowhere.

anyway, i started paddling and within 5 minutes, strike! the wal mart wobbler does it again! small striper, but fun just the same.  i wanted to keep going to find new ground so i kept going.  probably should have turned around and trolled the same area.  but i trolled on for another 10 or 20 minutes and got another one.  it felt bigger, but didn't run as hard as a striper would.  got him close the surface when i see a fish that wasn't silver or black... small lmb.  probably a keeper.  trolled to burns cutoff and back to the car for nothing else, packed up and got home at 8. nice fishing for 2 hrs.  thanks for reading

Nice!  I love the energy in your report - I can tell you're jazzed to be out there doing it on the yak, and that's what it's all about.   :smt001

thanks eric!  :smt002 i appreciate the compliment.  love your reports too.  those crazy videos always get me in a better mood.   :smt005

you're right, i'm totally jazzed about being on the kayak.  i love it when my parents (who are pretty good fisherman) tell me i'm crazy for being on the kayak, that i can use their boat anytime.  it only surprises them more when i come over to drop off a fish (i'm vegetarian, they are not).  and when i do get skunked, they tell me that i'm wasting gas and i always tell them, i didn't use an ounce of gas on the water  :smt002
