I find if I hold the gills of the fish it will generally comply.  After a little bit a time out of the water they'll usually comply some as well.  Slimy mofos!

Last year I was too sucky on the yak for the AOTY.  Nothing serious about it,..it's like fantasy football or baseball, but more awesome.  I find it's encouraging me to target more species than I generally would if I didn't see points associated with my fish.  Also pretty cool to be able to look back on your best catches of the year.  All you gotta do is take a camera (which all of you better do - fish porn - c'mon nah!) and a hawg trough or other reliable measuring device.

AOTY is inline with everything else that I love about NCKA, the brotherhood, the information share, the friendly tournaments and the occasional griping, which only furthers the whole family feel!  :smt044

Cheers!

Its cool JJQ. Some play for fun and some are more serious...................................... Then theres some who cant take a decent pic at all. I applaud your willingness and spirit. True AOTY. Plus if you are fishing with Daniel, you have one of the best, most postitive people I know to fish with. Ever. I hope you can come to Albion where we all have fun. Major fun.

Josh,

You can take your pic anywhere, the rules don't say you should have your kayak in the picture.  I like that tile on your back patio area, I am thinking of doing mine in something similar.

Looking forward to fishing with you this year.

Aaron

Sorry guys,
I was thinking of Kayak Wars. It is a good idea though.

I think you can catch bigger.   :smt006   How's that for a critique?   :smt003

Looks all good as far as an AOTY entry!

Looks great mouth wise.

Something that many veterans have done is to take a sharpie to the 1/4, 1/2, & 3/4 increments which will make it easy to distinguish just how long any fish is from a picture.  I'll try to post pictures tonight.
