Jeff, thanks for sharing ... always good to hear a story of one who beat it ... and battle scars to prove it.  I hope you battle continues to roll forward.

I'll try to go get the new names done today and add the year if I left space after the name.  Tonight will be the first chance for it to become a conversation piece at a dinner being hosted by Lowrance/Navico/Simrad for a large group of industry sales people.  Got the NCKA sticker on there too ...  loud & proud!

Bill

Had to post a funny picture I took last night of my loaded car after the show I was at in Monterey for the past 4 days.  To put this in perspective, this is an old Toyota Camry loaded with the following on TOP of the car:
Fully rigged Hobie AI, fully rigged West Marine Pompano 120, Hobie Mast & sail, 1 Hobie Aka & a few pieces of Red Oak lumber for my garage.  Not an obsene load, but creative...

INSIDE the car I stuffed the following (my clown car ... read on):
A 4-caster metal jet ski dolly (like you see key ski'd & PWC on at a showroom), a barstool, 2 plano back-to-back tackle boxes with extra wiring/rigging supplies, 1/4 sheet of plywood, 2 paddles, camera kit, large rolling cooler full of rigging supplies, lots of misc. cleaning supplies & tradeshow display goodies, 2 AGM 32ah batteries, 3' long folding scaffolding 9used as a stand for the Pompano kayak), extra clothing, Hobie Ama's, Hobie peddals, and whatever I could find to stuff into the car around all of this & still be able to climb in to drive it home from Monterey! :smt002

I call this my clown car because I have yet to find something, within reason, that I can't haul in, or on, it.  I can fit 9' pieces of lumber inside the car & still close the trunk (without any of it sticking out of a window).  Anyways, hope you all find this as amusing as I do!  All this gear took me 3 trips to get it there but I took on a challenge to get it home in 1 trip! :smt003

The presentation & such we taken with great admiration by the attendees in Monterey.  Lot's of questions about the names & stories shared.  Spent the whole day with the key staff members from Lowrance, Simrad and B&G.  Played with ALL of the current Lowrance units, setup networks, learned some cool new tricks and just fondled them to my hearts content! :smt007

Had dinner with 3 of the Americas Cup Oracle team members!  That was the highlight for me!  They are going to put on one heck of a race this year!!!!  They wouldn't let me put a NCKA sticker on their hull ....  I tried! :smt044  Had something to do with adding too much drag to their boat   :smt005

It was QUITE the load!  The PWC cart just barely fit in the back seat of the car!  It was a all-hands-on-wheel drive home from Monterey, I'll tell you that much!

Just thinking about those we have loved and lost to cancer.  I was removing old IMs from people on my computer but could not delete the ones from my uncle.  Thanks for the effort at awareness Bill.  This one effects us all.

In light of the OUTPOOR of love to Mooch on a separate posting, I thought I'd bring this to light yet again.

This little sentiment is to remind ALL of us to not take lite to life and our fellow friends.  Take the time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.  You think "they know I love them" but really, when was the last time you "manned up" and told em?  I'll be the first to admit that I blew off spending time with my father a time or two and now, I can't go back and replay the opportunities missed.  So, take a few minutes for those who are close to you and seize the moment no matter how minor it may be.

Bill, if you add more names please add my sister in law Karen Martin taken from us by Bone/brain cancer fall 2011.  My brother Dave her husband is still battling melanoma for the 4Th time, Huge surgical scars from prior bouts and chemo this last round.  He made it up Albion 2012 where he met Mooch.  Sad and Hilarious at the same time. He is surviving currently and getting stronger but fighting Cardiac issues secondary to treatments. He thinks NCKA is the Coolest. If his heath is improved enough he plans to attend Albion again this year. It was quit a blow to him when I told him about Mooch.  Thank You for all that you are doing.
