Has anyone been?  I am going in August, so of course I'm wondering about the fishing possibilities.  From what I gather it's not very touristy and off the beaten path so there's not much info on the net.

My wife went yrs ago and still talks about it to this day....She of course didn't fish but she did get her skirt ripped off by a band of monkeys.

Where on Bali are you staying?

Let me dig up some sites I used.  http://www.baliforum.com/travel/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB1. I've found this forum to be the most useful.  It's frequented mostly by Aussies and the info is sometimes very up to date.  Search through the previous posts for the usual travel info.  Theyalso have some other useful recommendations like the best places to exchange money or contact for drivers...ec.

That sounds like a grand trip Eric!

I've heard you should watch out for skirt ripping monkeys. They'll strip ya like piranha.

When I lived in brazil... There was a monkey that would take $$$ and go to the vender/street market and give the money for food... He didn't own it. Was a wild monkey. Would grab the wallet out of your hand. Open it and drag out the cash and go to the store... They watch and learn. Wish Bali was in my future! Seen some beautiful pictures and video from there... Library might have travel videos of Bali... Have a great time and TAKE/POST pictures :smt044
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Sounds awesome if I can survive the 24hours of fly time in economy class.

I'm hoping to be able to fish off the beach or maybe go out in a small boat.

Thank for that link, Nate.  No idea where we are staying yet, but from what I've seen so far accommodations are quite reasonably priced.
