I ran accross his blog when researching herring runs in Crescent City.  I had seen his video before though.  Anyways, I recently reposted his video on Facebook when he was poke poling from a kayak.  I had wondered if anyone had tried it yet.

Razor clam regs is 20 per person.  First 20 you dig broken or whole.

I have been digging razors the last two days at Clam beach.  The wind and rain was brutal thursday and I gott skunked after an hour of trying during a mediocre tide.  Today I managed 4.  The wind was strong, the waves were big, and there was a hundred people or more today.  The sun must have brought em out.  I have only been razor clamming a few times so Im still learning.  Broken or not they taste great and are easy to clean.  I also went to the North Jetty and caught the incoming near the Coast Guard station and dug a horseneck and a washington.  I panko fried the clams and ate them as an appetizer earlier.  Wednesday while walking the dogs I found a huge cockle that is close to 4".

I've had the pleasure to meet Kirk at HMB (and Oyster Point) several times - he's quite a character and really knows his stuff  :smt045

Dont remember when it was last year, but there was an inflight magazine article on him on one of the major airlines. The lady next to me, i overheard her mumbling to herself as she read it too, " He's definitely naught from new yawrk"  :smt003

Time for Kirk to teach Survivor man a few intertidal lessons.

Anyways, I recently reposted his video on Facebook when he was poke poling from a kayak.  I had wondered if anyone had tried it yet.

After watching Kirk and Mike get beat up while pokepoling I said screw this and started the side saddle technique. It took them weeks to accept this superior method, during which time i was belittled for being a softie. A coupla near broken bones and lost eels later and what do you know. Its now the go to way of getting things.
