 Just a note to mark the date...

 This event is actually being put on by a few other fishing orgs. that also work with wounded warriors. EBRPD has planned to have a trout pen set up and we have been asked if we would want to show.

All we need to do is show up with some yaks and take out some vets, everything else should be taken care of...

Not sure if I can make it during the week, but I can supply a P15 and/or a OK Malibu 2XL. Of course with the paddles, seats, and PFD's if needed.

I will be out of the country until May 13th or I'd be in.  Sorry I can't make this one.

 why not....   could be pretty kool to hang out on the edge of the trout pen and have the vets yank up fish...   

i'll be there..esp considering that place is essentially my new neighbor.

Here is the e-mail from the Chairman of the fly fishing org that is putting on the event to give you a better idea of what is happening ...

Quarry Lakes on 2/22/13? I don’t have that on my calendar the event we are putting on is May 3, 2013. And we really would like your group to be there.
 
Here is how we do the event. Each participating club/organization:
a)    Contributes $100 (For the lunch and related materials)
b)   Contributes 10 volunteers
 
As the event coordinator I arrange with the VA to have the veterans there,
 
We like to keep the number of veterans to volunteers 1:1 or a few higher on the volunteer side so we can have instructions and cooking going on while they guys are fishing.
 
The beach holds 6-8 folks at a time and I think having 4 boats max along the nets would work out.
 
All the above is preliminary and we need to work out the details in the next month or so.

I'm sure more volunteers are always welcome so do not concern yourself with the " 10 Volunteer " quote...

I'm not sure about fees waived at the park yet and HOW National will take care of the $100 event donation...
