What's the word going on here. Wonering if there is a group campsite being used for this or is just reserve your own. Need to get the list of current people attending.

THanks looking forward to heading up here. Anyone know if pig hunting is open up here this weekend?

I'm working on getting the green light to head down on Friday evening, worst case scenario I'll be leaving early Saturday and just making it a day trip.  Heading down on the 16th to pre-fish if anyone is interested.

As far as pigs I believe its open.  Should be a shitload of ground squirrels too.

Looks like most of the campsites at Buckhorn BH01 through BH22 are walk-in, meaning first come first serve.  These campsites are the nearest to the boat launch.

I wont be camping but the campsite I'd listed above are open for sure.

Yes, pigs are open.  Watch out for those off road water hole if you're planning to venture.

Driven by it, always looked pretty clean/quiet.  I'd guesstimate about a 10 minute drive to the launch area.

I looked at the campground online and it looks like its first come first serve this time of year. I'm planning on bringing the trailer down Friday afternoon and staying through Sunday

I am working with the Park people on opening up the group camp for us to use, I will have more details on this (water and electric availability, etc.) later in the week as my permits get processed by the Corps.  So far they have been very happy that we are coming and are super stoked to be getting a little more attention :)

I used to drive up on I-5 to Willows and drive east to fish for shad on the Sacramento River, near Princeton. I never realized how close I was to Black Butte. Might be a good time for me to get out of the house for a couple of days.

I know where you are talking about Howard.  There is a pretty good bass spot by Princeton too, but I haven't fished it in years.  It's on the list for this year.

There is a trailer park/junk yard with access in the back to the Sacramento River that I used to access the river from. Eventually, the river area got trashed so much that the owner of the property installed a gate and you had to ask permission ahead of time to gain access. Too much hassle. There was also another access road about 3 miles farther north (road 49...not sure) that had excellent access to the river but also was eventually closed tot he public.

Lets get a roll call started.  Please post up if you are going to be at the event.
I can get the group camp area opened up for us if there are at least 10 people willing to throw in $10 a night for it.  Like all other sites here, there is no electric :(  but it's cheaper to do the group site...

Sponsors for the event include:

Headwaters Adventure Company
Pro-Cure
Lowrance
Hoggy
Boomerang Tool Co.
Powell rods

I am still working on a few more :)

For those that attend each event, I will be saving the wristbands and we will be drawing a wristband at the final event of the year for a Lowrance Fishfinder/GPS unit :)

The more events you attend, the better your chances of winning :)

Roll call:

1-Rockfish
2-beenfishin
3-jbaker
4-yester
5-Racin "TwoSheds" Rob
6-NoSoupForU
7-PakehaCherie
8-Weimarian
9-DrHabanero

Thanks for showing your support folks, Lets go have a great time!
