My Hobie Adventure is not as stable as I wish it was, for a big guy like me probably the outback may be better, I used Nosoupforu at crabfest ( since my tandem was being blown to the rocks )and really like the way it feels , a little slow but stable, maybe with a bigger rudder and turbo fins it would make it better.
My tandem kayak should just be left to paddle in the lake or float down the American river drinking beers

maybe by summer if the money improves it will be time to change.

I have two kayaks left. Both old school P-13 & P-15... I'm thinking about trying out the Raptor. I know they build them in Santa Cruz but do they sell or have them on display there as well?

WS Tarpon 160 and a P13

Next go round I really want to paddle yaks from the Eddyline and Jackson as well as the SOT Raptor. I have no regrets with the T160 though and don't see myself using anything else in saltwater.

Had a paddle Hobie Pursuit (1999) first, but sold it - not enough weight capacity, but a cool little yak that caught some great fish and hauled some abs.

Picked up 2 nine foot Mainstream Jazz's at Costco years ago for $300/ea that came with paddles and nice Surf To Summit seats that I still use.  Great little all around boats.

Then got a Mainstream Tango - 12' tandem version of the basic little boats.

Moved on to an OK Scrambler XT which I still use alot.

Got an X-Factor in 2007 and another one last fall.

Currently, in order of frequency of use:

- New X-Factor
- Scrambler XT
- Old X-Factor
- 9' Mainstream
- Tandem Mainstream

Gave the second 9' Mainstream to a buddy.

I love kayaks, and I would love to have space to get more.  Like a Jackson, an RTM, and maybe someday a Hobie.

Paddling a P13 a couple years back out of Humboldt Bay a couple miles felt fine, but the stability and roominess didn't hold a candle to the X.

Loved my Trident 13 once it was OTW, but transporting it got to be difficult for me (I'm incredibly old, you see). Still, that was my first yak, and it was wonderful. Now, I have an Eddyline Caribbean 12', and I love it. Much lighter and easier to get onto the roof of my SUV and transport generally, and stable and fast. Don't think I'll need any other kayak for fishing in any body of water -- this one is versatile.

If I could afford a fleet:

Jackson Cuda 14 for sturgeon, or any all day (ass killing) trip.
OK P15 for longer distance trips
Coosa for skinny water
Native Redfish 14 for loaner
Hobie Sport for Linda

I have a WS Tarpon 120 for my first and am just realizing how much less expensive it is going to be for the next kayak (OK's P13 maybe?) with not having to buy all the safety equipment, VHF, paddles, electronics, etc. etc.etc. This could get addictive!
