Huge bass, wonder if it was released.

are they good to eat at that size? Are they good eating at all? I've never seen anyone keep one.

They are good, but think most people avoid due to mercury etc.

While large individuals of any fish are not as good to eat as smaller ones, LMB and SMB can be quite tasty.  Its all about the cleanliness of the water body they came from.  I used to camp and fish along the Black River on the Apache Indian Reserve in Eastern Arizona and we would live off SMB for several days straight.  Delicious!
