I would be interested too.  I could easily make this a stop on my way to Oregon to visit friends and family.  Are there reasonable accommodations nearby for those who don't camp?

Silverthorn Resort is literally a couple minutes up the road from Mariners Point and has cabin rentals. The next closest I can think of is a drive back to I-5, maybe 25, 30 minutes or so. I bet that there would be some other people/couples who might be willing to go in on the cabin thing.

There are kind of two camps there at Mariners. Does your reservation include both? The one has the loop and then the one that runs out and ends on the saddle that connects the island. If the first area is not reservable, I suppose I could put out some stuff at the couple other sites there just in case there is a little more room needed.

I'm hoping to reserve the whole first peninsula. We could launch right there regardless of lake level. It should be full by then too. Waiting on Shasta recreation company to confirm right on. You going to make it out tomarrow?

My family and i are finishing up the last few oak trees for firewood on a property we have access to. We will be done by Sunday or Monday though. And then it's on. I generally average 3-5 days a week otw. And AOTY awaits!

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Redding is only fifteen minutes drive from the lake, grew up there, any of the hotels on Hilltop drive are reasonable and close to food with easy fwy access!

Update, due to scheduling and cost issues I had to move the date once again, it will be April 27th. I know it's the weekend after BSS2 and I hate to make people choose, or take anything away from that event. This will be the date, no more changes. Thanks
