Yeah, sure, I can use live bait, dead bait, and artificials and they're attacking a GoPro like it's nobodies business.  I'm hearby taking mine off the market and attaching hooks to it!

Wonder how halibut experts explain that behavior.

I saw that for real last summer, I guess it's pretty common with the chickens, We took a half day trip outta Homer, got to the fishing grounds and started dropping bait down to about 120 ft, after about 30 minutes of catching the school had played follow the leader up to the surface and stayed there till we got our fill of catching.  I stopped at 9 and started taking pics, and my buddies got between 11-16 each depending on how fast they could get their bait back in the water.

Very cool vids, I wanna go back and look for a big one.

From the young 8 inchers we have here at OSU if you walk by the tank they all come up and lift their heads out of the water in unison. Theirs is a learned feeding behavior so maybe these guys are doing something similar or just seeing if there is any food (bait balls) at the surface. Really cool I would like to see that in person as well!
