I read an Eel river report from yesterday and it said there is a sea lion sitting in the hole by Holmes which is long ways inland.

Shoot on site

 :thumbdown

Slightly joking- but surely a Royal Pain in the A#$ !

Wait until you have an SOB flip you or almost flip you. Both on the American and at the Port I have had on numerous occasions/run-ins close calls where I almost took a swim because of them.

-Some serious run-ins

(AR mouth) Fishing for stripers, the SOB hit the back underside of the yak while on anchor causing me violently rock and sway in the current.
(Port- POS) Fish on the stringer over the side and SOB surfaced within few feet on the yak going for the fish and  narrowly avoiding disaster I reacted lightning fast throwing them in the tank well.
(AR lower River)   Reeling in a kwikfish sardine wrapped during salmon season and you guessed it, the SOB going after it right when I was pulling it up next to the Yak.

Striper_Slayer absolutely loves the cute, cuddly creatures...That's why they follow him around all the time.  :smt044

I've got pictures of a sealion tearing apart multiple salmon up by Cutting's Wharf on the Napa.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Shoot an animal that is trying to eat/survive  :smt011
....i'm sure MAN has something to do with their needing to go so far upstream looking for food,,,,so what should MAN do?
Killing them is not a wise choice, they are a very needed part of the food chain.

Yea just let em sit and decapitate endangered species because there is such a shortage of sea lions on the california coast.  There is plenty of food for sea lions out there in the ocean and river mouths.  There is no need to have a lazy sea lion killing fish like shooting them in a barrel.  Sea lions have been way too protected lately.  Sure we need em in the food chain, but there has to be limits of what these fur bags are allowed to do.

I would like to hunt them, if it was legal, I think a sea lion bowhunt would be awesome. In the mean time, pun intended, I will keep poppin them with my paddle.

I've had them swim right under me in the Port of Sac in my float tube, close enough to where I felt them swim by.  Your playing in their water.

One snuck up on me last week and bit my Ling while it was on my stringer on my gun.  :smt009

He was still cute.

I like how Jim is trying to blame taking a bite out of a ling's tailfin on a furbag!

I would hunt them Also... They most likely taste great! Solid fish diet! Probably taste a little like whale, and I had that in Norway years ago.... Was awesome!
