Wow. Dies of natural causes at 67. He seemed to be in such great shape too.
I have a feeling he'll be missed more than most realize.

Yes, rest in peace Huell!

I looked forward to his show and watching California's Gold each Sunday. My son grew up with that show...we'd watch and see which places we wanted to check-out in person.

You know, I always thought he was in good shape as well! He was a buff dude!

He was entertaining to watch and handled the variety of people he interviewed with a good sense of humor.

Yeah, that is a bummer, just watched one of his shows on Folsom dam, water and the Sierra snowpack over the weekend.

Rob - I tried that link, must be one of Cora's links as it took me to a couple of Winnie the Pooh vids!   :smt044

So sad. I love how he seemed truly amazed and genuinely interested in things. He has so many good episodes. Do you guys remember when he stumbled upon people Ab diving at I think Van Damme? I'll never forget, he talked to a family from Tracy and the son was a giant, dude was huge.
Anyway, I loved the show and never minded the shit everyone would give me here at the station for putting California's Gold on the DVR. At first they made fun, but they came around. Huell had that effect on people.

Oh, and Huell was a former Marine.

That winnie the pooh video ending is one of huell's greatest last moments! Cora loves it and can quote the whole thing in character!

How could you not enjoy his childlike sense of wonderment?  He was so square that he was cool.

RIP

Today on KFBK, it was announced that Huell had prostate cancer.

Apparantly he had been fighting prostrate cancer for several years.  As a 4 year prostrate cancer surviver I would like to tell of all you guys to have your PSA tested.
RIP Mr. Howser.
