Hey guys,
I have a question about parking....from what I can tell, the park only allows one vehicle per camping space as part of the camping site fee. They charge an extra $7 per vehicle when camping (which is the overflow parking), which I think is the day-use rate. Perhaps they charge an extra over-night fee as well to allow for extra vehicles with each site.

If we want to stay in the park late (to enjoy the festivities), do they close the gates into/out of the park at a certain time? Anyone know how that works? The web site talks about day-use being from sunrise to sunset...how do we stay later than that if we aren't camping on-site?

Thanks  :smt003

Cherie they do close the gates to the day use areas at Sunset. The event should be over by 2pm on Sunday, the $7 car fee covers your fee at the campsite and day use I believe. Most campsites have spots for two cars and sometimes 3. Hope that answers your question.

Do you have a link that says that?  I thought each campground is allowed 2 vehicles per.

***EDIT***
I found this;
Camping fees include one (1) vehicle per site as well as a towed vehicle or trailer. A maximum of two (2) vehicles (trailers, automobiles and RVs) may be parked at most campsites. Campers will be charged an extra vehicle fee per additional vehicle per night, subject to availability. Extra vehicle parking is limited at all parks.

To me, that sounds like a second vehicle that isn't being towed in by the camper when they register, is going to be charged a day-use fee.  They can park in the campsite of someone who is camping, but just for the day.
My son and his family are coming on Saturday.  I imagine they will be charged $7 and can park in our campsite while they are visiting us that day.

Here is a link to camping spots. It states that each camp spot includes one vehicle and an extra vehicle cost $6.

I did not realize it, but campers check-in is after 2 pm.  I thought it was 12 noon.  I guess that changes my travel plan a little.

Thanks guys...I am reading-up on the links!
So another question about the gates....Victor, you mentioned that they close the entrance gates to the day area at sunset...does this mean no one can go out as well?

I ask, because we would like to hang-out with everyone in the evening on Saturday (Uke jam fest!) - but will we be able to leave? I don't want to get locked in, LOL.

Thanks for that info - it sounds like each site is "allotted" 2 spaces, but that could include a trailer, RV, and/or the vehicle you drove.
I called the park a while back, and they basically told me that although they allow up to 8 people per camp site, all vehicles other than the one (plus a trailer, for instance) at the actual site have to park in the overflow parking and pay the extra fee.

We are coming up on Saturday morning, and were planning to stay through the day and evening. However, tenting it wasn't an option this time around, so we found another cheap place to stay a few miles away. We will be back bright and early Sunday for CF, but it got me thinking....can we leave the grounds (actually get out the gate) on Saturday night, and, will we have a spot to park Sunday a.m.?

Cherie, there is overflow parking outside the gates to the day use area. The jetty day use area is at the end of the road. As long as you are not in there after sunset you are fine. On Sunday morning I would say get there at sunrise when the gates open or earlier and wait in line for the gates to open like many did last year. There is an iron ranger at the ranger kiosk when you enter the park where you can pay cash for the day use area if they are not open yet.

be sure to check with the front gate if they are allowing the use of pop-up canopies; I know they mention having issues with them blowing around the campsites....
