Hello all,
I am looking for a fishing partner and would be willing to sponsor someone who might also need a teammate. Fished GS6 which was my first time kayak fishing for me. What a blast, even though I did not catch many fish. As the summer progressed so did my kayak fishing skills. So look out GS7

Thanks

Not trying to be a downer, but your intimation that heavy consumption of alcohol is a big part of Gimme Shelter is off base.  It's a kayakfishing tournament and a family weekend.  I enjoy a few beers, and I don't object to others enjoying some alchohol, but I'd say that if consuming alcohol is part of your focus for attending then please stay home.  Don't want to single you out either - anyone who plans to "get drunk" at the event is included in this advisory.

Thanks for understanding, and I do hope to meet you there while sober.   :smt001

Thanks Martin. I was at GS-6. I was asking if Allen wanted to be on the NWKA team. See you at 7!  :smt006

Hope I wasn't too hard on you there, Jstafft - I know you're just kidding around.   :smt008

I really just want people to know that, while I'm all about having a good time and do enjoy a few brews myself, I want to make it crystal clear that the event is not about drinking!  Alcohol is really just part of what goes on outside of the kayakfishing, and as the guy who organizes it I think it's important to be vocal about not supporting an agenda of drunkeness or other kinds of insensitivity to families and others - this includes swearing, aggressive behavior, farting...etc.!   :smt003

Bring your Good Times Mojo, don't be surprised to see others with different or more extreme modes of partying, and treat others like you'd want you and your family to be treated.  Thanks.   :smt001

Well said Eric...I know you're a little sensitive about this, and I think we all are after what happened last year, and some of the conversations/threads over the past year.........

I know you have everybody's best interest at heart, and I am optimistically confident that we are all going to have a GREAT time all weekend regardless of weather, fishing success, preferred method of relaxation etc.

I think your statement below sums up my experience , beliefs, and expectation of my times at Shelter Cove and at all NCKA gatherings.

Bring your Good Times Mojo, don't be surprised to see others with different or more extreme modes of partying, and treat others like you'd want you and your family to be treated.  Thanks.   :smt001

Oh yeah...and if anyone steps out of line...me and baitnbeer are in charge of "campground relations" this year...so play nice and be respectful.  :smt004

Jim

What? No farting... oh man I better not bring my pregnant wife. Watch out Jim, she might be pregnant but this chicks a black belt and it could get crazy. You could always use the excuse, "it's was 2 against one man".  :smt044

All jokes aside, Eric my reg was sent out today. I have 4 solid dudes attending the event for the first time. I look forward to hanging out with all you good folks on and off the water. Mike

In the game of biggest fish, if you can't enjoy routinely gettin' your ass handed to you, by great fishermen, then you don't belong in the NCKA.
