***Regarding Surf to Summit.  Their donated prize package last year was the most generous of any company I've worked with.  This year they were good enough to get back to me to say they just couldn't swing a donation for GS7 due to the tight economy, but they'd be glad to get me some gear at a discount for the tournament.  Anticipating the tough economy and already deciding I can buy prizes if needed, I'd offered to pay for part of a package to each of the potential sponsors I contacted - which weren't many...  Anyway, I was especially stoked to get some S2S gear at a good deal and offer it as prizes for GS because I really do love their gear.  I'm not a gearhead.  I'm a layman who maxes out my opportunities, and, by extension, I max out my gear for all I can get out of it.  I've gone through sets of some other kids of gear, but my Surf To Summit seats have lasted me for over 10 years of heavy use.  I also have two of their paddle leashes which have seen the same heavy use, and they're equally as reliable.  I'm happy to promote Surf To Summit even though they're unable to make a donation this year, and I'm stoked to make a big purchase of their gear to offer quality choices deep into the prize pool.
