Depends on which river.... I use the 8lb on the AR at Howe with no problem... but I don't think a 4lb pyramid would hold.....

but then again, I'm not a AR regular... so I could be sure.... ATD? Fishworks??? input????

Unless the flows are around 1500 CFS.

they are currently at 8600. Should be above 5000 CFS until late May.

I am going to make a run of 5,8 and 10's on Wednesday. I need to make a 8 and a ten for a guy in the city. 20 bucks each including lead and SS eye.

If you have the materials (lead and eyelet) I have a mold and plumbers furnace.

I am in Rancho Cordova.
If i make up your way I will hit you up if thats ok ?I have about 20lbs of lead .My anchor that i'm using is a lead ingot with a lag bolt thru the center.Could the lead be dirty?I may have access to a few buckets of wheel weights.Would those work?could the steel clips be skimed out?

The clips wil just float to the surface where yo can skim them off. Make real sure that you have no moisture at all hidden in the lead anywhere or you gonna get a big blow up. All other debris will float to the top also. Dirt and other substances can be skimmed too.

I cant make a 20 lb anchor the mold tops out at 10.

Let me know if yu are going to crabfest. Ill just have a bunch for sale there also.

I think mine can do up to 60ish pound anchors. I did the math once but don't remember. Lead can be dirty but as Craig said most everything will float to the top so it can be skimmed off. Anything remaining can be brought to the top with wax.

Wheel weights are perfect in my opinion for an anchor, it may add some size because they are generally tin/lead mix but works just the same.
