I've been wanting a fish finder for a while now and my dad got me one. This one is great ,it's easy to use and has very good quality. It shows depth ,temp ,battery volts ,fish alarm ,battery alarm ,and depth alarm.

I've compared my Eagle 245 that was only $99 to my dads huminnbird matrix 67 witch is way more money and they were the same. Same depth ,same fish. This is probably the best fish finder for it's price and quality.

It's buttons are easy to use even with hobbit feet.

Thanks Chris Ive been waiting for this review. I will pick one up this week.
Does the connector fit thru the waterproof fitting your dad stocks?

Mike:

Jelly's ff is a great little unit, I am impressed so far.  The basically took the 240 ez, a great unit in itself, and refined it.  No funky extra hole in the back, dual beam transducer, same bombproof housing, same ez menus.  The fact that the price went DOWN is stunning!  This is easily the best bang for the buck out there.

We do stock the seal for the eagle ffs.

On another note, the draw also appears to be very low. Jelly has three days of fishing (around 15 hours) so far on the same 10 alkaline AA's.

jelly great review!

scwafish, how much does it cost with all the kayak fixins?

Do you sell it with a power supply and cables etc? all I need to do is give you my visa, open the box,
drill, mount, and plug it in? That's the kind of shopping I like to do.

I'm finally getting up high enough on the learning curve to have time for a sonar unit. I need something
simple and bomber. If I have to mess with something electronic too much it'll feel like work for me!

cabelas has the eagle cuda 242 for $80.  this is a single frequency model. same case. perhaps not as much
power as erik's old 240? not sure.

You can get a 245 DS locally at Westmarine for 109.00 and they price match anyone including the web.  I made a portable 245 to take to baja, I'll let you know how it goes.

The portable unit I made is working very well.  I will post up on the how-to when I return.  It is super simple, and works like a champ.

This is the same as my FF that I did the pool-noodle transducer thing with.  I'm quite happy with it too.

I just threw out my old piranha last night cleaning the garage.  I took it apart and tried resoldering the transducer cable directly to the greenboard, but it was not to be.  :(
