Windex multi-surface with vinegar is manufacturer recommended & works good with a micro fiber towel.

I rinse in fresh water real well, then dry it off with a micro fiber towel.

Use dialectic grease on all connections.
I leave the wires connected and wash with warm water and dish washing liquid, rub it all over with my hands and then rinse with warm water and pat dry.

I rinse after every salt water use fresh water it stays dry do not an issue. I also apply a good layer of dielectric grease every couple months probably gets about it 4-5 times a year. Good cleaning to all the connectors with warm water and mild soap to clean them then apply. Keeps the connections rust free for years take care of the gear and it will take care of you.

You actually rinse the pins on the connector with fresh water then dry and apply grease?

I have never cleaned the pins on any connections on the FF. Apply a liberal coating of die-electric grease to all connections. Do this about 5 consecutive times and the grease will be pushed into the connecting parts. Always make sure they are lubed. Especially in SW. I have never had a corrosion problem after many years in the salt water.

I keep the connectors slathered in dielectric grease. Then I hold the ff upright in my hand and using a spray bottle full of just water spray the thing with lots of water but being careful not to spray the connectors, towel dry and air dry a day or 2, no problems since I started using the grease.
