Omar and I hit up the Pho Garden in Mountain View every once in a while when I get lazy and don't feel like cooking.  The Pho is pretty good.

They offer an eating challenge... the Pho Challenge.  It's a bowl of Pho, 2 lbs of noodles and 2 lbs of meat, that has to be eaten within one hour.  You only have to finish up the noodles and meat, not the broth.  I think I can do it, Omar doesn't think I can.

With the holidays here I thought it might be fun to get a couple of people together to take the challenge with me.  The bowl costs something like $23 but if you complete the challenge it's free, you get a pic on the wall, and I think you also get a shirt.

Is anyone interested in taking the challenge?  Maybe Wednesday or Thursday this week or next?

Where's the Wednesday night paddling crew? It's been a while since we got together to slurp soup and shoot the shit.

Here's a you tube video of someone taking the challenge...

The worst part is going to be when you are almost done. Every laboring bite tastes further and further than the first one. That stuffed sick feeling comes over you but you ignor it and power on.
Just then you look up and see someone with a fresh bowlfull and it becomes one of the most disgusting sites ever.
I don't think I could put 4 lbs of anything in my belly at one sitting....excluding beer of course, but that runs right through.  :smt003

I'd do it if I could get anywhere near Mountian View in the near future.  Here in Sac there is a fantastic Pho place, it happens to be called Pho King. :)
