Finally made it to the last event of the season; but there was no love for me on the water. Had a few take downs, but nothing stuck. Great day on the water; got to see alot of my Sac bros and sis whom I havent seen in a long time.

Thanks Jim (and Headwaters, and all the other sponsors) for putting this series on! I'll be sure to make it to more events next year.

Congrats to the winnings, thou I actually don't know who there were; had to leave early to fix some issues at work :smt013 (all it took was for me to unplug and re-plug the system back in).

Sorry no fish porn or pix either; mental note: insert SD card before taking camera....

I promise Jim I would make it to one of the events; and the drive was not all that bad. Left Haystack at 5am and made it there by 6:45, after a quick stop at Mckie Ds... Sorry you couldn't make it.... great weather, great company; don't know about the after-party/award ceramony, but had to make sure that everyones holiday presents were getting mailed.

I trolled my "Christmas" lures for the first 45 mins; then soaked agents for the next few hours, while blind-casting hairraiser at any structure that looked tempting.... then trolled dual rattle-traps back to the ramp.... ALL FOR NADA....... :smt010

Having a hard time choosing between showing up to the striper tourney and the sturgeon hookup may have triggered my migraine attack.  :smt005 I just can't get a break I tell you. I'm glad you were able to fish today GLen.

Well, With Glen showing up, I knew this was going to be a great day :)  and it was!

There were a fair number of stripers caught, topped off with BMB's 26.5" beauty!  The surprise fish of the day (or fishes) were the catfish, it seems everyone was catching them!  Since I didn't go out on the water I cant describe the conditions adequately, but the weather was fantastic and teh chocolate milk looked like a good paddle :)

As far as the standings go, the days winner was a much deserving Weimarian with 4 fish totaling 517 points, followed closely by Racin Rob with a 5 fish bag for 499.5 points.  Third and fourth were taken by Sandbag and ATD  with 387 and 325.25 points respectively.

I was glad to see 2 five fish bags, a 4 fish bag, and 3, 3 fish bags!!  that's some strong work on a tough day like this for sure.

In addition to that, there was 73 lbs of small trash collected, topped off by VWool's trash boat!!! for a total of over 120 lbs of trash collected!  Victor took home the trash 1st place prize and Pakeah Cherie's son Avery took second, with 39lbs of trash!!!  WTG folks!!!

For the series totals, Racin Rob won first place with 1380.75 accumulated points over 3 events and took home a GoPro3Silver donated by Headwaters, SWEET!  Cawingshooter took second in teh series with 916.125 points over 2 events, and ATD took third with 786 points over 3 events!
Well done fellas!!

Well, I had a great time at all of these events and am looking forward to doing the FreshKATS series again in 2013.

I want to shout out to the great sponsors we had this year:

It's not the fish you catch, but the company you keep out on the water, right?  :smt044

As much as I wished I had caught a fish (LOL, skunked again), I was just happy to be out on the water with some great anglers. I am learning more each time I go out.

Huge thanks to Jim for coordinating all these events  - I always feel bad that you are stuck at the dock! All the prizes you secured were awesome (Thank you, Headwaters for supporting the event! Dan, you should have seen that trash boat Victor brought in. I hope someone got a pic of it, haha).

Congrats to all the winners - it was good to be able to put faces to NCKA names!
Weimarian's enthusiasm is contagious, and Ron - I can't wait to see your new YTube channel now that you've got a fancy camera to record all your catches ;-)

My son had a good time - I had to laugh when he started collecting trash, and there was a lot out there (unfortunately).

Congrats to all the winners! This was tournament had many firsts for me. First fishing tournament, first NCKA event, and most importantly it was my first fish caught from a kayak. 16 inch catfish caught on a floating sardine fillet. Not the biggest but it felt great popping my Cuda's cherry. It was great putting faces to the NCKA handles and seeing everyone's rigs.

Put a mount on one of those race cars! Would be sweet seeing them ripping around the track!

The port is a challenge when you don't catch fish.  Being the water was dirty in the channel I decided to stick in there while most venture to open water where I think some caught fish.  Caught only one striper on a green chartreuse swimbait before registration and Weimarian I caught the rest of your fish.   :smt044

PS.  All fish were released.

Yester, Glad you persevered in the glory spot... So fun pulling Crappie and striper right there. Skunk off and a Powell rod! Got it home and put my reel on it. Strung it, wife asked now what? you going to fish in your sleep??!! Reply, "in my dreams only".... Some pictures.... It REALLY DID HAPPEN!!! :smt044 :smt044 :smt044  The stripers color was truly amazing. Each scale looked like a rainbow around the outside. Thanks everyone for sharing time OTW with me and Jim/Rockfish for a great venue. Can't wait till Jan 1 2013 for the threatened roster of events for next year... Let me know where I can be of assistance. Anyone that received the glass lures at the ceremony. Let me know if they work, Or give the folks that donated them a call. (2 guys making them, new company) Wow, now we gotta work not fish...  Good Memories to carry me threw till next time. Sorry I caught all the fish in the port (Ya right :smt044 )

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
