Hey Guys:

I scored a couple of project boats off of craigslist.  Heres the first.  If you have any hobie parts lying around, please holler.  I'll be lucky to have it built and floating before cod opens on 7/1.  As you can see, there's quite a large hole where my butt will be.  Anyone know if they make a toilet seat hatch?   :smt005  Thx,

Yikes... that hole is huge!
Forget the hatch idea and weld sheet of polythelene over the hole.
The following repair guide has a section for " Large Holes".

What's with the hole?  I wonder what they were thinking when they made that cut.  I can see it now... some guy decides he's going to add a center hatch to his kayak.   "Okay, a center hatch goes on a flat area near the center of the kayak.  This looks like a nice flat area.... buzz... buzz... OH, CRAP!!!!  Maybe I can sell it on craigslist?"

Maybe he was working on a solution to peeing in your wetsuit.

I'd weld in a piece of polyethelene with a 6" screw in hatch.  Then you can put your wallet , ect, in that hatch and it'll be very secure since you'll be sitting on it.
