I started off the weekend in the wine country on Saturday with an 18 mile bike ride and a wine tasting extravaganza.  That was sweet.  Then headed down to Tomales today to hunt halibut.  According to my wife, there are no halibut in Tomales yet, or she would have caught one ... we got skunked.  So did everybody else from what I could tell.  There was a lot of bait.  We caught bait without a problem.  Pelicans were diving all around us ... it was sweet.  Although it was overcast, the wind was relatively light.

I met up with Troy (gotbaitgofish) for a short while.  It was good to meet you, Troy.  Next time we'll get 'em.

Anyway, next weekend I'm going for Macs in Tahoe!

Later, Sean

Looks/sounds like Tomales Bay is a spot for the Butt-Hunt!I envision oily-glass conditions in there too?I'll make that drive in a heartbeat over the you-never-know-til-you-get-there conditions around the local Bay spots.I'll keep my eyes/ears peeled for call. :smt002

More like 20+mph winds and 2-4' windwaves are the norm for Tomales this time of year. NW winds tear right down the bay. Big NW winds accompanied by big outgoing tides make for SLOPPY conditions.
