So, I have subscribed to Dave Hurley's reports in the past (but at the time I didn't have time to fish)  He has consistantly combined all the reports from every source to make the best reports ever.  To subscribe it costs $42 a year  Here is the link

I check our usafishing at least a few times weekly, tell me, is the hotsheet worth the mula? I'm a broke joke that's unemployed right now, but I do love fishing the bay and its deltas. :)

NCKA is the best source of fishing info, period. Hell, sometimes people even post reports from the water. I can't put too much trust in USAfishing and other sites because I feel they try and Trump up reports to sell products and get people in bait shops. This is where it's at.

Agreed....make friends here and you will have an honest and timely report. I feel I could fish just about anyplace in Ca and make 2 phone calls to get a real report. Just last weekend Chuck called me to ask how the crabbing was at HMB. I gave him my exp/report as I was steaming my limit. Spend $42 on potluck food and you will get all the info you need.

reading the reports here makes me want to hit the water everytime.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Most of it is just the different newspapers fishing reports.  The Captains (charter boats) fishing reports are pretty good but not necessarily useful for the areas that we fish as they tend to get out a bit farther than we are able.  It does give a general idea on what areas the guides are focusing on and what species they are targeting.  It's a decent read but probably not worth it for $42 if your going to be specifically kayak fishing.  Networking on this site is like the others said the most reliable.  As you spend more time on the site you will see the standouts for specific areas, species, and fishing styles.  Throw out a private message and most will be open to help.  General posting is kind of so-so response wise as some guys are kind of private about their info but even then most of those will reply via pm.

Yup, fishing reports here are usually dead on and hookups with experianced (super) yak anglers will help you learn when and what (should) you can catch where or have a great time sharing some skunk stench. Adam, Rob, Craig, and so many others always put the invite out there. Hookup and learn from those around you. Get some great fish tales soon :smt044
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
