GF and I hiked there yesterday.elevation change was moderate at about 600 feet.  Went through various micro forests of pines and ceders too manzanitas and madrones.  Saw some tree which looked like they may have had some sudden oak death, not sure but it looked lke it.  Went the wrong way on a trail and we ended up with company as a coyote.  He wasn't but 25 feet away and trotted off from us.  GF was able to get some good pics which I hope to post later.  We went up by the smaller of the lakes and walked by that.  We saw plenty of horses but you really had to watch for some of the MTBer's out there.  What we both commented on was the age of the riders, clearly half of the hundred plus mountain bikers were past 50 and more than a few looked to be on other side of 60.  Best part was they were cranking away!  We also ended up watching a flock of turkey's root around for food out on a trail.   All it was a very hike, with only one negative comment, many of the trails are not well marked or are trails that have been made by mountain bikers that are not marked at all.

My favorite place to ride. Talked to a bellyboater coming down canyon trail a couple weeks ago. Said he got a couple up there at Ilsanjo. There is a map available with all the trails.
