grubs in oak tree

I'm splitting a bunch of oak rounds and finding quite a few grubs in them.  Anyone know what kind they are, and if they're edible?  I've collected a bunch and I'm thinking about sauteeing in some butter.

And then probably straight back to shooting massive fish in the head before doing some more home decorating of your daughters' room, followed by an after dinner gyotaku session for the neighbor kids with octopus and kelp.

EVERYTHING is edible. Whether you'll live or not after consumption is another matter. 

 

 Pictures?  Maybe termite queens?  I've come across too many termite colonies when I was splitting wood in my yard.
