I would really like to join you guys on Sunday but never dive before. I am willing to try if you guys don't mind and only if its not really deep:)) just don't want to go deep for my first dive. Never tasted abalone either, so I was thinking of renting a suit from sports chalet, let me know I would greatly appreciate any tip or you can just tell me that this is not for newb and I'm cool with that too

There is plenty of good, shallow fun diving right in the main cove where Ernest lucky13 is planning on diving Sunday...

However, if the water is as calm as the forecast predicts I plan on taking advantage of conditions and paddling to a new (for me area) where I imagine the depths we will be exploring will be varied but I will be trying to push my limits if possible to explore some deeper spots...

Since I don't know the area it probably would not be the best choice for bringing someone along for their first time diving....

You should see if you can hook up with Ernest though...the diving in the main cove there can be really fun and I have got nice fish, abalone and urchins right there.

Great advice Jim! With you only being able to go for a day trip and the exploration we want to achieve, definitely not a time for a
new diver.

New terrain for experienced divers means diving with someone who can save your ass, and vice versa.

Good luck to everyone that is going.

@ ginotlk, I would recommend going out with just your ab iron and guage for your first time. Don't worry about the speargun.
Managing all your gear takes time to get comfortable with.

We will keep an eye out for you!

May take some guys to Timber Cove for the dive but the party  WILL BE in Ocean Cove afterwards.
