A couple of the "Screws", maybe more, will be launching at Timber Cove around 8:00 Tuesday.  So far it's me and Daviator for sure.

Martin,

The forecast calls for low wind, but a 9 ft swell on Tuesday?

Tuesday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming W 5 to 7 kt in the afternoon. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...WNW 9 ft and S 1 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

@Dale... The swells are forecast pretty big but they're separated by about 12 - 13 seconds.  That seems doable to me but if it gets too rough the fishing is usually pretty good at the edge of the cove which is protected fairly well.

The 9' swell usually shuts down the shallow water bite regardless of the periodicity. Doable maybe from a kayaking perspective but doubt fishing will justify a 2.5 hour drive IMO.  :smt011

Thanks Scott.  Swellinfo.com calls for smaller swells and they're supposed to diminish throughout the day.  Tuesday is the only day we can get out this week, so I think we will give it a try and hope the conditions are better than the forecast.  The forecasters seem to get it wrong as often as they get it right.

Sorry if I scared anyone off with my first post here, looks like the forecast is for a much flatter ocean than before,

Clicking on the link I put in above the swells are down to 6 from 9 a couple days ago.

Hope you guys have a great day,

That I don't know for sure.  Maybe one of these guys who fished there on 9/16 can chime in...

A few of the deeper potholes on the road down to the beach were "patched". Wasn't really much else done.
