Hi All!

Pondpoacher and I (so far!) are planning a trip down to Mexico this Nov/Dec for some diving/kayak fishing.  Our friends, who some of you know, Collin and Morgan, have just started IndiGo Adventures (IndiGoAdventures.net).  Take a look below and see if its something you might be interested in.

We would love to pull together a group to go down together and are pretty flexible for dates as of now.  Of course you don't have to arrange a trip with Pondpoacher and I (though we are thoroughly entertaining in some circles), so go ahead and contact them directly to see what they are about.  Please tell them we sent you because they have heard all about NCKA!  Also, check out Collin's spear fishing accomplishments...his pics will thrill you!!!   :smt007

the baja:
Baja California Sur is a desert oasis comprised of rugged desert and beautiful blue waters.  We will be focusing on fishing and diving the protected waters of Bahia Magdelana on the Pacific, the East Cape of the southernmost part of the peninsula where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, and the remote islands around the city of la Paz, Baja California's capital.  Bahia Magdelana is made up of several large barrier islands that protect an intricate bay and mangrove system larger than San Francisco Bay that is the most productive nursery and breeding ground for fisheries along the west coast.  Several world records have been taken here in these waters and there is very little sport fishing pressure.  Species targeted inshore include grouper, mangrove snapper, snook, corvina, wsb, halibut, and sierra; while a short ride outside of the mouth of the bay larger target species include yellowtail, broomtail and gulf groupers as well as such pelagics on off-shore sea mounts as tuna, dorado, marlin, sailfish and wahoo.  Clams, scallops, lobster and tequila are also readily available along the beaches.  The East Cape of Baja offers the potential for chasing renowned roosterfish, snapper, sierra and jacks inshore; and pelagics in the nearby off-shore canyons.  The islands around la Paz offer excellent structure for large dogtooth snapper, cabrilla or leopard grouper, as well as the usual suspects of yellowtail, amberjack, sierra, roosterfish, tuna, wahoo and billfish.  Our experience working these waters for the past 9 years, combined with an exceptional 27' center-console and vehicle to cover transportation and logistics will help us be as successful as possible in the conditions we encounter.  We will do our damndest to put you on the fish!

Flying into la Paz, or San Jose del Cabo in Baja California Sur, MX are short, daily flights from LAX, SFO, etc.
We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to where the best fishing is at that moment.  Generally a few hours of driving to our remote camps will find you well-hydrated on your choice of Pacifico, Negro Modelo or Tecate, and nourished with the best local seafood and fish tacos Baja has to offer.  Camping in this desert environment is very comfortable with bugs and rain a very rare occurrence.  Minimal gear is necessary, cool evenings and warm days can be expected and protection from the sun while keeping your drinks cool will be your biggest challenge...while you get dragged around by the fish of your lifetime!

Hope to hook up with you or at least cross paths in Mexico with some of you!!!

Regards,

sctrace and pondpoacher

Wish I can go but have to save my vacation time for a trip to PI.  I want to go on this trip someday.  Have fun!
