What is your opinion on a chance at WSB this thursday through saturday.  The moon phase isnt good so I am wondering will the bite turn off today til next weekend when the moon phase is better?

Should I go or should I stay and go next weekend?

I was wondering the same thing. I want to get down there, but want to maximize my chances. Long drive as you know. Longer for you.

I've got no clue. Would seem that the full moon would be best, but that was not the case last month.

If you are Papio it seems the bite is always on. For the rest of us mortals we can only get out there & hope. :smt044 :smt044

I was there last month on "the best" day, but missed it by one. The day before everyone cleaned up. Two fish total the full moon day.

Best advice is plan on a 3-4 day stint of WSB fishing, and hope you get it sooner than that  :smt003

This past month I fished on two full moon days and one new moon.  Most fish were caught the day before or the day after.  On the full moon days it seemed that hardly anyone caught fish.  The day I saw the most action was several days before the new moon.  At this point I don't know if the moon has anything to do with it.

Long drive for me but I'm thinking of going and camping somewhere close and not coming home until I get one or a good sized but. At the rate I'm going I may have to change my voter registration to Santa Cruz County. Any advise on campgrounds in the area? I'd be there week days.

Few good beaches to camp at within driving distance of Monterey/Santa Cruz.  There's also some campgrounds near Monterey and S.C. as well.
