The reason I ask is because Headwaters is getting set up as a dealer. This is the first time I've branched out into non yak specific gear and I want to spend my money wisely. What sort of items would you expect a kayak fishing store to carry? Thinking along the lines on crab traps, nets, and gafs. Thanks for the help guys.

I would be interested in the ambush hoop nets because it is also legal for lobstering. Thanks!

TR 102s did good by me last year.  You can expect the framing will rust but all traps still in good shape for upcoming season.

I also like the Promar TR-102w. They collapse and easy to stack and use only leaded sinking rope. Forget the cheap nylon rope that floats, its a danger to power boaters if you don't weight it down.

I have several TR 102's and they work great . The kids and wife have alot of luck with the snares off the jetty at Doran AC 333.

I would carry 3:

Promar 102
Promar Ambush hoops
promar regular hoop
Thats the list right there for me! All the others are too expensive for me.  Dont forget to carry GOOD crab gauges, floats, and bait jars too!

Sounds about right. I use the 102 traps myself and love them. Will probably get a couple nicer ones as well. We will also be getting those collapsable nets, and a bunch of floats.
