Hey StephL, I was in my buddy's boat. We normally kayak fish a couple miles east of walnut grove for bass but he borrowed his dad's boat to do some salmon fishing. His dad was successful on wednesday, and caught a 8-10 black bass on friday over by wimpys. There was also a lady on a pedal kayak that was talking on her cell phone while trolling. I got snagged over by the bridge, I can't remember if I lost the lure though. There was another guy that was kayak fishing around 6:30-7 that put in at the same spot. One was a sandy color for the 6:30-7 kayaker, and the one a little later was a greenish brown? Was that you StephL? If so that old couple in that boat that was trolling was ridiculous! They must have been trolling at .5 mph, we were behind them at one point until they got snagged and hurried up and passed them. We had to constantly stop and reel our poles in, and then was a couple minutes and then start trolling again.

I was in the sand pedal kayak lol and the guy in the greenish kayak was steve i believe, i met him that day and he tried to help me with a snag. I lost a couple lures by the bridge as well. I hear that there are some areas around there that drop to 35 feet, so I can see where I may have snagged. Didnt have my ff either so hard to tell where the structures were. I don't remember the old couple but I do remember passing a cople boats p that were trolling slow haha. I wonder what boat  were in. Thats cool  saw me thogh!

Hello Steph, That was me Steve.  I was in the Jackson Big Tuna and saw a few slow moving boats.  Now that I know they were probably backtrolling.  I've also thought about how I could dive for all those expensive lures around the Geogiana Slough.  Not sure if a lot of those boaters or jet skiers know what a diver down flag is. :0

STEVE! Stoked to see you on the boards bro. You need to come by the shop so we can pimp your Tuna out with an anchor system.

For those looking for Pyramid Anchors for the American River. I know Adam said 10-15 lbs but this should be good for the lower American.

Thanks for the heads up Daleshark.  :smt006

I'll be by with it next week.  The schedule is filling up quick for September and October, with deer season opening this coming weekend.  I'm probably going to load the Tuna up and take it with me on my Idaho deer hunt in October.

Thanks for the great presentation on salmon fishing. I learned a lot about kayak salmon fishing and look forward to meet some Nor Cal Kayak anglers on the 29th.

I just wanted to see if this weekends Saturday 29th hookup is still happening. Also if there is going to be any BBQ or anything afterwords and what time. I can bring some marinated chicken to BBQ to make sandwiches along with a side dish. Let us know, I know some of the Sac guys were planning on showing up.

Thanks for the reminder, Yes we are still paddling this Saturday. 7:00AM at the Howe access. BBQ starts around 12:30 unless the bite is really hot.

Major thanks to Adam (Auburn Trout Dude) for knocking it out of the park tonight with the Salmon fishing seminar at Headwaters shop. Over 40 people made it for the talk, and I think we answered a lot of questions. For those who were not able to make it, we will have a blog post breaking down the talk with important links about Regs, kayak rigging, and tackle setups.
Dan where can we find this blog?
