I just purchased an AI from CCK in Oakland.   No registration on it when I purchased it, nor any instructions to register it.

I will surrender and register mine.  With this issue, I'm like water.  I'm taking the path of least resistance.

i thought you were out of the kayak fishing game?  just get a conversion kit for your adventure and have scott put it together for you..

I pretty much am.  But since EWB got his this weekend, you know how it goes.  Keeping up with the Jones, in this case keeping with the Bergs lol.

I registered mine today at my local DMV.  Got the year sticker on the spot and need to buy the numbers.  Get a copy of ABC Boating handbook that shows how to put them on the right way.  Starboard and Port are different.

Scott knows how to do it.  Although there's a huge difference between the adventure island and the conversion island.

Just like I was telling someone on the water last week at Capitola..I was pointing at my kayak and showing the difference.  I said, "You see at the back there where my kayak says Adventure "Island" on it?  Yup, that's the difference, Scott's doesn't say island on it."

Oh yeah Forgot to mention since I posted late last night.  I had to pay an extra $10 fine because:
1. I did not register within 20 days, my purchase date was 8/1.
2. I was not suppose to use the AI (sailboat) till its properly registered.  There is a field in the form that asks you first date of use.  The clerk caught it.

"You are required to register your undocumented vessel and pay applicable fees before it is placed in California waters."

When you put the sale price its before taxes.  Total registration payment was $39 ($29 reg + $10 fine).

Thanks for the info Mel. How about if I stick a sail on the Revo? Does that require a reg too?

If DMV Sacramento finds you filled the form wrong, (which I did numerous times and had to correct and initialize) they send your paperwork back.  Just prolongs the process.
Hopefully yours goes with out a snag.
