Jdyak, Sturgy, Mooch (and possibly Stuart) are heading out to Tahoe to fish, fish, drink, fish, eat, fish and fish  :kick

Company welcome - we will be on channel 69.

Jdyak had mentioned about a Trout (Macs, germans and rainbows) Derby on Sunday - BIG $$$ prizes. We will see how we do on Saturday - to see if we are even worthy of a chance for Sunday's derby  :smt001

Hey... glad to read you guys are coming up.

I'm doing some trail work with the Tahoe Rim Trail Assoc. on Sat but my Sunday is open.  Where do you think you might be fishing out of on Sunday?  Being fairly new to the forum I would like to meet some of the members... maybe learn a thing or two also.

I won't be wearing a speedo... waters to cold  :smt108

Are you guys going to be on staying on the north shore or south shore? If on the north shore I could get you hooked up with some macs, the rainbows have been slow. They are in the creeks spawning now but should pick up soon. i have been limiting out every time 3 to 10 lbs :smt027

Mooch,
Whats up? I know its been a long time since I've posted anything, right after the Elk tourny we had another baby and I've been hella busy. But anyway, how are you going to fish for the BIG MACKS?  I read a report that they are in the shallows right now so you guys should catch a couple monsters. Good luck.

Bigfishbab  a.k.a. son of white sea bass

ps. If you still want those magnets let me know?  Also it's about time to hit up linda mar for the annual white sea bass tourny!

Hey all - we will be staying at Agete Bay - between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

We don't have high hopes of catching fish - since none of us have fished this Lake long enough to know "the spots"  - but just kayaking Lake Tahoe is reward enough  :smt002 Looking forward to hooking up with the locals and talk story  :smt023 Can't beat local intel  :smt002

For those of you who don't have my cell # - PM me and I'll forward it to you.

Again, we will be at VHF channel 69

Hey Scott - haven't seen you post in a while - Congrats on your second(?) baby!!
We plan to fish for anything that swims  :smt002

Reports that I've heard from Linda Mar is that there is tons of bait but no big fish moving in YET. A few stripers have been caught from shore - and no news about any "recent" white sea bass being caught. Looks like you dad's record will be very hard to beat  :smt002 Tell him I said "hello" :smt006

Anyway, I hope to see you and Roger on the next NCKA get-together!

Take care!
Mooch

Newbie question:

So, I was thinking of diving for crawdads to use for bait - what's the water temp this time of year? And will my 3 mil farmer john keep me warm enough?

If your site has a beach then maybe you can catch them when a wave roles them in, or you can use a string and cotton and catch them that way. they take bacon also. It is kind of cold but you can wade for them and they should be easy to catch, or scoop them with a net.
