Lol, yeah at Shelter, tide was incomming and swell relativly big so it was pulling out line in short bursts just like a fish (was watching line counter gain and loose 10 to 20 feet at a time....)

..still affects me.

WSB in Monterey, pulled me into the kelp, wrapped it up, and I could see the fish, RIGHT THERE! ......... Eventually it came unbuttoned and I cut my line, and puted like a little kid for months.....still affects me.

That's like every seabass hunter's nightmare. Wicked.

I think the snag that I remember the most was at Lake Berryessa at the First Salmon Slam. I didn't have a fish finder at the time and I had let out some line to troll out of the marina. I had the drag set really light, as I almost reached the opening to the lake O2B tells me that I am spooling line out, I look back and realized that I had let out almost the whole spool of line. Had to paddle back to the where it got snagged and then paddle back out to the main lake. It didn't seem funny then, but now that I look back I do get a good laugh out of it.

I got a nice hit one time drifting plastic...    I could barely get it up about 10 feet off the bottom, then it ripped line back out.   That went on  repeatedly for  an hour before I realized it was snagged on abandoned crab pot line.
I thought I had hooked Moby Butt .
