Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site.  Started kayak fishing this year in Monterey Bay. I try to go out at least once a week.
My wife has offered to get me a fishfinder for Christmas, but we were unsure of which one to get, even after doing lots of research, found many mixed reviews.  I don't mind spending some money for a good one, but don't want to break the bank.
Would like one that is easy to put up/ take down without hassle as well.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Chad Peabody here.

Spent seven years in the Navy as a Corpsman with the Fleet Marine Force and did a couple combat tours. Now I'm in nursing school, enjoying boat life, and looking forward to seeing you all out there. I'm on Monterey Harbor Mooring #162 near the end of the breakwater. Stop by and say hello on your way out.

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for such a great forum. I have wanted to get a kayak for many years and I finally got one. I picked up my Jackson Big Rig on Saturday from Dan at Headwaters Kayaks. What a great shop, worth the drive from the Bay Area. Unfortunately with the lack of rain I was not able to use my Yak this weekend, so my family and I did the next best thing. We did a little swimming pool Yakking. Here is a pic of my daughter with my new BIG RIG in the pool. Hoping to get out and hit some real water over the next few weeks.

Hello, My name is Adam. I am currently a guide at Monterey Bay Kayaks and I also run my own scuba diving business At The Helm Adventures (atthehelmadventures.com) where I do guided tours and specialty tours. My true passion is freediving. I like to freedive for fun off of kayaks at work as well as just for fun. But, nothing is better than freediving with a polespear in hand. I have been spearfishing for sometime now and only use a polespear, except for white sea bass. I also divemaster for a few dive shops here in town. If you haven't tried spearfishing I encourage you to get out there and try it out.
Get out there and Fish!

Slaughtercraft. I finally picked a handle, however pretentious as it may be, after a year of light posting under my real name Tim Ayers. Met some of you at the 2013 Albion Open but I didn't camp since I was living in Little River. Should be back again this year and at GS8 for my first time to the Cove. I need to post more often so you quit calling me a sand dab but in the meantime I'm overcompensating with pics. The last pic is a set of fish inspired porcelain jugs I made upon moving to Mendo from North Carolina in 2011.

Hi, guys. My name is John Yu. I am new to both kayaking and fishing. My younger brother told me to joint this group to make some friends so that I would not go out fishing by myself again. See you guys around. By the way, my brother is Ernest, Lucky13.
