Me and sixmhz hit up Lexington this morning.  We had planned to meet up at 7, but I didn't show up about 7:20.  DOH! :smt012

We went over the locked rail at the first boat launch and shoved off into some pretty decent conditions.  But the calm wind lasted all of 5 minutes.  We basically didn't need to paddle  There was a NW wind that was pushing us at a pretty decent clip.

The mission today was to get some fish on the troll.  Greg was dragging a shallow diving Rap in firetiger and I was pulling a gold kastmaster.  Maybe ten minutes into it, Greg gets hit.  13 in rainbow with full fiins and tail, and a big belly.  It looked like a decent stocker that had been feeding well since it got dumped in there.  Minutes later, Greg gets hit again, this time, slab crappie!  Dude was on fire early.

We basically skirted the treeline on the South East shoreline all morning.  I got no love until I switched to a Storm crankbait, and even then, it was only when I was paddling upwind.  I think going downwind was just too fast to really work the action of the lure.  The wind was just too much by 11AM so we called it.

Anyways, final tally for me was 5 bass, a bunch of bass fry, and no trout.  I'm happy though b/c I wasn't expecting much out Lexington and I landed a few nice ones.  All released.

Sorry for the crappy pic i only had my camera phone.

I went there Wed with my son to test his new yak, we didn't fish, but metered a lot of fish on the bottom and  dropoffs along the east shore.  Lake is very pretty when full and the hills green.
Your photo is and interesting study in color, and a lot more genuine than most of motel art I've seen!

Was hoping to hook into those nice crappies again this weekend but we only saw one before the wind really started howling.  I had one nice trout and another small guy; all while trolling near the shoreline.  Seemed to be good action near the edges of the coves where there were large variations in water depth.  I had good luck on that firetiger shad rap; too bad it's currently stuck in some brush at the bottom of lexington  :smt009.
