I like that idea. I'm in if we go with that rule.

I'm not attending this event, but shouldn't the divers have their own side bets between them only?  Is it fair for the surface (Rod & reel)guys to share a bounty when divers can pick & choose their targets? Just wondering?

I really don't care either way, but in my opinion it is fun to have little bets between divers and hook and line guys...

And I only know of 5 guys who will be actually be diving on tourney day compared to 100+ guys fishing with hook and line...

Both methods have their advantages...yeah hook and line guys can't see what they are catching, but they can also fish much deeper reefs and don't have to actually dive down and find the fish in limited visibility with high surge and thick kelp.

Last time we did a bet between friends for biggest ling any method and a hook and line guy won it with a nice 36 inch ling....it was actually me cuz I had an ear infection and couldn't dive.  :smt005

Anyway, no biggie. I just want to get out there and have fun.

End of thread jack.

See you all tomorrow!

Sincerely,

Jim
