Hi guys I'm coming up to Yuba City next month to visit my parents and would like to bring my yak and fish for Salmon but don't know if there are any spots I can fish and be able to paddle back to a launch area. Are the high water and flows a problem now? Can you paddle from the Boat launch at mosquito beach in Yuba City and fish the mouth of the Yuba? I've fished the wildlife area on the Vance side often from the bank but not sure about fishing a river yet. I fish the local lakes here in San Diego and have an older tarpon 160 with the two hatches and it's a bear to turn. Maybe the Sac over at Meridian or Colusa would be easier? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Jim

I think the Feather is a better right now. I fish the other side of the wildlife area from Vance. There are a couple places to launch up there. The flows have been high but should be coming down soon. You can launch in Yuba  City at Boyds Pump or in Mrysville at the park under the bridge. Also south of M'ville at ???? Bend. For the life of me I can't remember the name of that place. It is off of Feather river Blvd south of country club dr.

Star Bend ?  If you have good insurance and dont leave any valuables  in your vehicle you  might launch from there. But dont be surprised to come back to a broken into vehicle or busted out windows.

Is that below the outlet I thought I saw a few yaks fishing one of the runs on the east side of the river where it splits just above Vance. yeah wanna b we have the same problem down here any little bit of temptation is too much for some I guess. Thanks Again  Jim
