Looks like were gonna have a flat spell and from reports it sounds like the salmon are movin  in.... i plan on mostly trolling but if theres a nice line of bait ill drop down a chovie or herring to see what i can pick up.

since the guy who opens the gate is inconsistant in his times that he unlocks the gate im thinkin a 7am arrival is a safe bet.

also open to launching out of bolinas if i hear the bite is hot near dux.

Dont wanna go solo so yea , company would be great.

Thursday looks doable to me. As does Friday/Saturday. Sunday looks great - 2/3 foot swell.
Thursday swell from SW though.

From USA Fishing:

The salmon are beginning to "stage" and are showing off the Gate in ever increasing numbers the past three days. Overall party boats scores are running at a fish per rod with a few taking limits while (knowledgeable) private boaters are seeing 2 to 4 limit scores. On Tuesday 7-31 Roger on the Salty Lady out of Sausalito reported his boat landed 10 limits to 28 pounds with a solid 15 pound average. They lost another 10 due to the size of these feisty slugs. Emeryville had one boat out for salmon, the New Salmon Queen who reported 14 salmon for 15 anglers to 23 pounds also with a BIG 15 pound average and several other lost opportunities. The fleet is spread out fishing from the edge of the bar off Muir beach to Duxbury. Roger said they are starting to see some better bait signs and schools of (late arriving) anchovies.

I'm there tomorrow. The car is packed.

Is the gate just in front of the parking area? Can we park outside and walk the yaks in?

Big low tide. Ab season just opened.

I think you'll just take the Hwy 1 exit in mill valley. It's on Hwy 1.

You can't park outside but if your waiting you can most def rig your yak and roll it to the beach if need be

Is this where you launch?

That looks like quite a hike to the parking lot.

bassbay/Angelo just texted me that someone caught a 20 pounder passing the rock in front of the beach in a yak. He and I will be there around sixish.

It was Blueyak that scored in front of Muir and now I'm told it was 28 pounds.

Do you guys know what Blueyak was using, or how far out he was? It's only about 40 feet deep by that rock, and doesn't get much deeper than 60 ft unless you get way out there.

Everyone's fishing in the 66' to 55' area . Fleets spread from the redcan all the way to dux. Wherever you mark bait there's a huge chance therws salmon lurking around. Last year I caught a hog when I marked a baitball in 30 feet of water.
