note to all i just got back from up there it rained snowed and was 80* they also did a double plant of fish from 2-8 pounds should be a great event, any one have an extra yak for me?

Sounds like Rob has you covered but if you need a yak I would be happy to bring an extra.

Was talking to the kids, and I will probably space them out, take one out for a while, then the other, and then let them both go. I appreciate the offer though. Pretty sure I wont be sitting in the kayak for too long anyways. I am stoked!

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Try to get a room at Rockstar (thanks for the hook up), and Ash & I are in, so please count us in.

Couple camp suggestions;
Heading East from Silver Lake on 88 turn at the Blue Lakes sign.  On the left is an over night paved camping area for RV's.  It's free this time of year but costs during winter; it's a sno-park staging area.

If you head a little further west into Hope Valley, look to your left, North, for a road through the fence.  It's well marked with a big "NO CAMPFIRES" sign.  If you cross the West Carson River, you just passed it.  Go in, take a left or right and look for a spot to pitch the tent or set up camp.  It's free too and has some trees around.

I know these aren't super close to Silver but within about 20 minutes.  I think the road sign said 18 miles or so.

Thanks guys, hopefully there's still some spots left sat. I know of a few good back wood spots to camp in the area but I hope to get as close as possible.

That's what I will be doing. Driving the the granite lake trail head and camping in my Subaru. It's out of the way enough where no one will be around to check and because it's a trail head it's common for cars to be parked there over night.

Just a reminder,
Still plenty of rooms at the Rockstar and only $50.00
There is plenty of parking and we should have the place to our selfs.

Even if you don't stay here, it would be a great place for a Saturday night Pot-Luck NCKA style :smt003

I will be there mid day Saturday.

See Ya There,

I'm taking up the motorhome on Fri morn. Cheaper in the long run than gas and the room. I'll just park somewhere each night. Potluck sounds good. Let's try to get a head count for it.

Omar and I will be heading up early Saturday morning.

I live in Mtn. View and can probably get things to/from the event if you still need some help.  Things are pretty hectic for me right now though so you'd have to drop off at my house or pick up from my house.
