One more day!!!!!

 :smt003 :smt004 :smt003

Just wanted to post a few details up here to help make things go smoother on Saturday...especially with the amount of folks launching early to target salmon, want to make sure everybody is on the same page.

Meet at the beach behind Monterey Bay Kayaks at 9am or so. Look for Sara/Saint of Circumstance to buy raffle tickets for $20 AND to drop off any prizes you may have. Sara will be at the beach the whole time to hold down the fort and keep an eye on prizes and tables etc...

The paddle will be from 10-12 from the MBK beach to the Red Buoy and back. Or just meet the floating crew out there is you are already OTW hunting salmon!! Chill and celebrate life at the buoy when you are out there with your brothers.   :smt004

Once back on the beach the potluck will commence from 12-2. Get yo grub on, share, try new foods, have a cold beverage etc. Remember, no glass on beach and keep any adult beverages low profile, preferably in a cup...

At 1pm I will try and get everyone's attention to announce that the raffle will start in one hour and to remind them to buy tix!! At this time I will also tell people of three additional things they may want to check out:

1. Mooch will have a table set up selling his Plant Impressions!   :smt007  All PIF $ is going to Mooch, so don't feel bad if you spend your last $20 on a plant instead of a raffle ticket...it's all going to the same place!

2. FrankFishing will have a table set up next to Mooch with info on our kick ass Northern California chapter of Heroes on the Water! Stop  by and say THANK YOU for the great work they do, and see how you can help out in the future!

3. My wife Ana and I will be chilling next to them with info about Team in Training and how to get involved if you are interested.  There are seasons starting very soon here in SC and Monterey and it is another great way to join the fight to kick Cancer's ass.  :smt001

At 2 the raffle will commence!!

Here are the rules for this year's raffle...we A-Hulls have conferred long and hard over this and this is what we have decided on for this year. We will be open to suggestions for next year, but not this year.   :smt002

-Whatever prize your ticket is drawn for is the prize you get. No picking and choosing of prizes.

-Once your ticket is drawn it is removed.

-If you don't like the prize you get (for whatever reason) then bargain/trade with people in the crowd, don't "pay it forward" and not take it because that makes the raffle drag on too long (some people have a long way to drive home!), and could offend people who donated the prize. You can say when you get your prize that you are looking to trade so people will know to come see you...

-You do not have to be present to win. Anyone whose ticket is drawn and they are not there, will have their ticket taped to their prize and it will go home with me (unless someone else volunteers to take that prize to the person). I will post up a list of prizes I have in my garage afterwards so people can come by my house to get them, or I can send to future events with people going etc.

-The SOT Raptor will be the last prize drawn, but no promises on the order of the other prizes....We have tried the last two years to plan ahead and create an order to draw them in, but on the actual day with a pile of prizes all of that just falls apart.   :smt005

-Tickets can be bought from Sara up until the very end, I will announce when ticket sales are closed before we do the drawing for the SOT Raptor...bottom line on this one fellas is that we are trying to raise as much $ for Joel as possible...this is not a competition to see who can "win" the raffle, this is a fundraiser to help our brother in need. If anyone has a problem with this, please let me know.  :smt006

Also...just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you for all your help and support and to all the A-Hulls for their continued hard work on this: FishMaster1, AlsHobie, Saint of Circumstance, SinCoast, Porky, DpShim....Love you guys.  :smt008

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Hi Jim
I believe at the first PIF we registered for the paddle and paid an entry fee and the value of the entry fee and sponsorship contributions was good towards a raffle ticket(s). Don't remember exact details from last year. Are we having a minimum entry fee etc or are we just buying raffle tickets? Also Waivers? - with many people OTW for Salmon. Please clarify.

No entry fee.

No waivers.

Paddle, fish, dive, swim etc is all on your own.

Start when you want, how you want, and hopefully meet at Red Bouy between 10-12 (monitor ch 69 to see when the group begins to gather at the buoy) and then cruise in all together for potluck and raffle.

Tickets for sale at beach from Sara from 9am up until we announce the cutoff.

Sincerely,

Jim

Sounds great, nice work guys. Its been a long, rough year for me and the family and didn't get to help as I would have liked to, but it is so great to see the event alive and well.

I'd like to preorder a air plant, my daughter will love it!

Have Team in Training info there is great news, for me and my family the cancer awareness part is huge and what its all about, thank you!

See you in the morning for a halibut hunt, and HOPEFULLY a halibut :)

If the MBK parking lot is full where is the nearest parking?

There's parking in that big dirt lot behind MBK, then in the paved lot just to the North, and also along Del Monte Blvd.

If all is that is full you can drop stuff off there and then drive just south to the parking by the wharf thingy...

In this pic you can see the paved lot just behind the trees, the dirt lot behind MBK with the blue roof, and to the right the other parking area...
