My Revolution is a little over 1 1/2 years old and recently one of the 8 inch hatches has started to stick badly  :smt013 . In order to get it water tight, I'm wrenching down on it and am afraid of breaking the handle off.Anybody run into this problem, and if so, how did you fix it

This is a common problem with the Hobie hatches but an easy one to fix.  You can either spray a little Armor All on the seal and around the ledge where it closes or use a little silicon based grease that's available at dive shops.  I like the grease because it lasts a little longer than the Armor All but it can also collect sand.  Just make sure you don't use petroleum based lubricants which will degrade the rubber seal.  After you grease it, press the hatch all the way down to seat it before you turn the lever.

Instead of the grease, I recommend spray on silicone lubricant.  You'll have to re-do it every 2-3 trips, but it doesn't collect sand as much.  I typically spray the inside and outside of my boat (including the hatch sealing area) to remove all salt and sand, then lube the girl up for the next ride.

i use silicon or armor all. I also remove the rubber seal (o-ring) and give it a wipe down. Seems like the o ring is kinda oval and sometimes it rolls over and makes it hard to seal. I usually have to push the hatch down then turn the handle. I suppose I could try a new o-ring.

The ring is getting loose/expanding. Replacing it did the trick for me.

Peace!

Thanks for all the input guys. Lubing her up did the trick, since it is a tight fit :smt003
